Feline Pet Care
Your Adult Cat
Once your cat has reached one year of age, it is now considered an adult cat. Hopefully your cat has become a happy and healthy member of your family by now. It is important that your adult cat be examined at least once yearly to keep them in the best health possible. There are also several things you need to consider at this point like switching from kitten food to a high quality adult cat food (we recommend Science Diet) and continued preventative medicine and healthcare for your pet.
We typically recommend a once a year physical exam and vaccinations called a Feline Annual Exam and twice yearly routine parasite screenings. We also recommend keeping your cat on Advantage Multi which is a once monthly heartworm and flea prevention. This is extremely important because there is currently no treatment for heartworms in cats so prevention is key.
